Assassin's Creed Mirage is meant to be a throwback to earlier Assassin's Creed games by being more linear and story-focused and minimizing the amount of role-playing aspects included in more recent versions of the series. The game's main gameplay mechanics are parkour, close-quarters fighting, and stealth. Mirage borrows the "Black Box" design from Assassin's Creed Unity and Assassin's Creed Syndicate for assassination missions, where players must explore the surroundings to discover various ways to reach and eliminate their targets.
