BENN TK FLY THROUGH HILL 3D TUNNEL EFFECT TUTORIAL | Bohol & Siargao Philippines Vlog After Effects
An After Effects CC 2020 tutorial on how Benn TK did this 3d tunnel transition effect in his Bohol & Siargao vlog in the Philippines where he flew his drone up to a hill then created a burrowing tunnel type of effect.

1:55 STEP 1 - Find a texture that suits the "innards" of the object you plan to fly through
2:13 STEP 2 - Create a new composition for your tunnel using the texture you chose and setup your 3d tools
3:18 STEP 3 - Create a hole in the center of your texture by creating a subtract mask with the pen tool
3:37 STEP 4 - Add a curves effect to your texture so that you can later modify the color of your texture layer(s) for variation
3:54 STEP 5 - Make as many duplications as necessary to create your tunnel (with substeps)
5:43 STEP 6 - Animate your camera to "fly through" the tunnel you've created by keyframing it's z-axis position
7:33 STEP 7 - Add your 3d tunnel composition to the main shot with the object you would like to fly through
8:00 STEP 8 - Match the speeds of your 3 segments of this effect
8:34 STEP 9 - Use motion keyframing and graph editor to zoom into object of choice
10:36 STEP 10 - Use cc radial blur to add a buttload of motion blur
13:16 STEP 11 - Drag the exit layer below tunnel effect so it is visible "at the end of the tunnel"
14:50 STEP 12 - Adjust light intensity so it is brighter at ends of tunnel and darker towards the middle
15:43 STEP 13 - Blend the colors a bit more with a LUT for added smoothness / realism
