As Paul McCartney declared to Playboy in 1984, the song was conceived at the same time as a parody and tribute to rock and roll of Back in the U.S.A.'s Chuck Berry. and California Girls' Beach Boys surf rock Three of the group's members were present at the recording: Ringo Starr, in fact, after a quarrel during the first rehearsal session, left his job and took a vacation, spent in Sardinia. The drum part was, therefore, mainly curated by Paul McCartney, who also plays the piano in the song as well as, of course, the electric bass. The guitars are, instead, by George Harrison and John Lennon, who also provides reinforcement in the song vowel.
