How to avoid feeling burnt out as a physiotherapist

Hey guys my name is Masud and in today’s video I’ll be sharing my view on how you can avoid feeling burnt out as a physiotherapist.

I feel it is a common issue that doesn’t get talked about often amongst the medical world but in physiotherapy, especially in areas such as MSK, because of the highly repetitive nature of cases you’re seeing.

After a few years, doing the same things can definitely wear down your motivation to perform as a physiotherapist and deliver the best outcomes for patients.

And trust me I’ve been there.

So I guess from personal experience, I know this is usually when I need to take a break from what I’m doing.

I would perhaps consider taking some annual leave or if you don’t have any annual leave, try to think about why you are stressed or feel clinically exhausted.

It is important to acknowledge these feelings you have as they can manifest into something greater like anxiety or depression.

Speak to a colleague or friend about it.

If you have a supportive clinical line manager it is best to chat to them as well.

There’s no reason you should have to manage this all on your own.
