Networking Technologies for ISPs

Over the years ISPs have asked my help in configuring their network devices for various scenarios. In this series I will explain the problems, dilemmas and other theoretical aspects of these issues.

There will be a linking practical explanation of the technologies explaining how they work and are to be configures and how you can leverage the best for your network out of them.

Today's topic is of Peering vs "Pure Bandwidth" aka Transit
There is a general myth in ISP circle and few "informed" customers of the ISPs that the "Peering" Bandwidth is not good and the pure bandwidth is good. This video will debunk this myth and explain these terminologies and functioning of the protocol BGP in summary only.

I will follow this up with a video explaining in detail about Static Routing, OSPF, EIGRP and BGP.
