Knowing the benchmarks for your SSD's read and write speeds is very important. By knowing this, you can find out if you are truly getting the most speed for your money.

Solid state drives are pretty fast — much faster than mechanical hard drives. But, if you have an NVMe drive, you will experience much faster speeds as shown in this video.

If your SSD is fast, you will have better video editing and gaming performance.

There are many methods to measure the performance of a SSD and HDD but to benchmark the performance of any storage drive FIO tool is used.
