how to pause your sim and keep them from moving in CAS - freeze them with the casclockspeed 0 cheat
casclockspeed 0 will freeze your sim's animations, and casclockspeed 1 will set them back to normal speed. you can also type "casclockspeed 0.1" for ten percent speed, or "casclockspeed 2" for double speed, and so on.
