The reason of my departure is simple, I got exhausted (I've been warned!!) Since December of last year, my energy level went to a decline. It's due to maintaining a standard, keeping my life balance on check and on top of that learning coding and making S K Y ppfilters, which took most of my free time. In February, I was just done. It sucks because I was working on SCRXPTER part 1, which was supposed to released that month. I took rest from video editing, and coded whenever I could. I was gone for 4 months.. I am so sorry for my long absence. This is the first and last time I'll be gone for THIS long. I took a long rest to better prepare myself to upload A LOT more frequently starting this June (which I promised since September of last year!!), so stay tune FOR REAL.
S K Y - D C:
This is a project I always wanted to do since the inception of S K Y, to recreate the art style of DriveClub in Assetto Corsa.. But it required at the very least for me to have some good knowledge of coding to start this ambitious project. Back with my first S K Y ppfilter for Pure, I was completely clueless about many many many coding things, now I am still clueless about many many many coding things, but I am MUCH better than I was 6 months ago, that's for sure. You have no idea how much work is put to realise S K Y ppfilters or any other ppfilters as a matter of fact. I spent a lot of time learning coding in the past months and now I have much better understanding of the basics.
Right now, the S K Y D C is still in development and won't be ready for public release for quite some time for various reasons; I want Pure to implement more feature that'd make S K Y D C much closer to Driveclub's graphics. Once Pure gets to a good point, Then S K Y D C will be released publicly. On the other hand, most of the new shiny stuff from D C will be implemented on S K Y & S K Y G T in the upcoming 1.5 update scheduled for June:
For the longest time, I tried to capture more sunlight to alleviate the issue of having "too much blue" feel using my ppfilters. With SOL it's not much of an issue but with Pure, it's a bit more complicated. Some work needs to be done. With the newest Pure and CSP updates, we are now allowed to capture more light thanks to the new tone mapping functions and Pure's integration to use them. What that means is no more too much blue feeling from my filters. Light can behave much more realistically now. So what that also means is... SOL is coming to an end. With Pure's amazing exposure implementations, not only lights can now be exposed correctly, most of the sore issues can now be fixed such as too dark shadows, overly bright sunlit surfaces, incorrect exposure behavior, etc. - It is a massive issue with S K Y for SOL, so now everything is much more better in Pure. The future of Pure is very exciting, and I cannot wait to see what Peter is cooking.
