In 1919, the Danish generals decided to create their own Danish steel helmet, but the final decision was made only in 1922. In 1923, the first helmet model was created, which was made of steel with a thickness of 1 mm. From the back there were two ventilation holes and one oblong hole from the edge of the back of the helmet, for fixing the helmet on the backpack during the hike. This model received the official name "Helmet of 1923" or "M1923".
