Cameras follow different packs of African wild dogs in the Savé Valley Conservancy, watching the pups as they play and the adults as they hunt for food. To everyone's surprise, the alpha female in Splinter's pack is pregnant for a second time.
African Wild Dog packs are led by a dominant male and female, who are the only ones to reproduce, while the rest of the pack focuses on guarding and feeding the pups. At a kill, the pups always eat first while the adults defend against scavengers. Once fully grown, these dogs have a hunting success rate of 70-90%.
