Second try with eco-dyeing paper with some mixed results. This time I used alum instead of vinegar as a mordant and wow, what a different set of papers.
One mistake I made that I share so hopefully you don't do it as well - my alum was not completely dissolved. I thought it was - I mixed it in a cup of water from my hot pot and it all looked like it melted but next time I will use boiling water and perhaps add it to the pot before I add the paper. As a result there are alum crystals on the papers.
The alum brings the yellow which was nice for variety but I am not super fond of the texture of the alum papers in comparison to the vinegar ones but perhaps next batch will be different.
