This is an introductory lecture from my online Excel training course, Microsoft Excel Essentials: Level 3 - VBA Programming+Macros.
This little bit of simple code has saved me DAYS of work in setting up directory structures!
You know how it is when you realise that the way everything is filed on your PC is just a mess? It's time to get organised! But creating a folder is a tedious business, right? The process is:
1) Right click, choose New
2) Choose folder.
3) Right click the folder and choose rename.
4) Type in the name you want
5) Hit Enter...
...and that's just creating one folder! What if you had to do 10, or 100 or 10,000. And what if each of those had to contain another 10 subfolders, or 100, or 10,000...you could lose a year of your life!
Well, I have great news...you can do all of that in under a second with the code I teach you in this section of the course and it's really short and simple! Not only will this VBA code create your entire folder structure, it will even give you built in hyperlinks to those folder right from inside Excel!
