In this video we review the new Nest Thermostat launched in October of 2020. The New 2020 model of the Nest Thermostat is the lowest cost smart thermostat that has been launched by Google Nest and it's almost less than half the cost of the Nest 3rd Generation smart thermostat. The New Nest Thermostat allows you to remotely control your smart thermostat from your phone and can be controlled with voice commands using voice assistants like the Google Home devices.
The New Nest Thermostat has received several updates that differentiate it from previous generations of the Nest Thermostats.
1. It has a mirrored screen and no longer has a rotating outer bezel, control of the device through a touch sensor located on the right side of the device.
2. The New Nest Thermostat connects directly to the Google Home app. It no longer works on the Nest app or connects to the Nest app.
3. The New Nest Thermostat no longer works with the Nest remote temperature sensors.
4. It has reduced manual feature control from the Nest Thermostat and many functions like scheduling the thermostat can only be done on the Google Home app.
5. The Google Nest Thermostat now has 2 externally mounted batteries on the back side of the device.
Overall the new Google Nest Thermostat comes in at a lower price point but the number of features found on pervious generation Nest Thermostats has been reduced.
