TryHackMe Box: 'Grep' - rooted by professional hacker.
On this machine, we will do a little OSINT to gain access to the machine.

OSINT stands for "Open Source Intelligence" and refers to the practice of gathering, analyzing, and interpreting information from publicly available sources to gain insight, patterns, and context. These sources can be anything from social media, news articles, corporate websites, public registries, to online databases and other freely available resources.

The goal of OSINT is to gain relevant knowledge about people, organizations, events, or issues. OSINT is used in a variety of areas, including cybersecurity, law enforcement, intelligence, marketing, and even personal matters such as background checks.

In cybersecurity, OSINT can be used to gather information about potential attack targets, identify vulnerabilities, detect threats, and predict attacks. OSINT can also be useful in identifying vulnerabilities, threats related to social engineering, and understanding attack patterns.
