How to Copy and Paste Effects in After Effects
This tutorial is on how to copy and paste effects and properties in After Effects. To sum it up quickly, apply the effect to a layer. In the Effect Controls Panel select the effect. Then use the keyboard shortcut Command+C if you’re on a Mac or Control+C if you’re on a PC to copy the effect. Next select the layer you want to apply it to and use Command+V if you’re on a Mac or Control+V if you’re on a PC.
Another way to do this is in the Timeline. Select the layer with the effect applied to it. Hit UU (the U key twice rapidly) to bring up any modified properties on the layer. Select the effect and use Command/Control+C to copy it. Then select the layer you want to paste it to and use Command/Control+V.
You can do this for effects or other properties such as scale, position, opacity, rotation, etc. Try it out for yourself and let me know if you have any questions!
