RetroPie has just released a new pre-compiled image on their website, the 3.0 Beta.

Some awesome new things in 3.0 is the ability to launch separate emulators for every rom you have. This means, for N64 you can launch Mario Kart with Mupen64 using the rice plugin, and for Mario Party you can launch Mupen Libretro, all from the same menu and roms folder.
We also have a new configuration menu which should make setup easier.
Overall a great update, but should you upgrade to the beta if your on 2.6? I would say its best to wait. There are still a few bugs to be worked out and it will give us something to look forward to for the time being.
