How to Delete and Recover Files on Mac.
There are two steps to deleting files and folders in macOS. First, files and folders are moved to Trash and then we remove it from Trash to delete. Trash or Trash can is a special system folder that hold the files to be deleted or recovered later. Files and folders in Trash are recoverable and we can put them back if needed. Except for files and folders moved from iCloud Drive that are deleted from Trash after 30 days, other files and folders stay there unless the Trash in emptied or set to be automatically deleted after certain days like 30 days.
