RECIPES:
TRILBY COOKIES:
2 cups shortening
3 cups brown sugar
6 cups flour
4 cups rolled oats
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon soda
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Cream shortening and sugar together and add vanilla. Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk. Mix thoroughly. Chill for a few hours or overnight. Roll out to 1/8" thick and cut with cookie cutters. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until golden brown. (approximately 10-12 minutes) When cookies are cooled, fill them with date filling.
DATE FILLING:
2 cups chopped dates
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 tablespoons flour
Combine and cook until thick. Cool before spreading on cookies.

HARD TACK CANDY:
3 3/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups light corn syrup
1 cup water
Mix the ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Boil until temperature reaches 310 degrees Fahrenheit. No need to stir. Add coloring and flavoring. Pour into a pan and cool. Once cooled, break into pieces and roll in powdered sugar.

TEA BALLS:
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup chopped nuts
Mix and chill.
Roll into 1" balls and bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 325 F. Bake until slightly golden, approximately 30 minutes. While still warm, roll into powdered sugar. Roll again into powdered sugar for extra sweetness.

RANCH OYSTER CRACKERS:
1 package ranch dressing mix
1/2 teaspoon dill weed
3/4 cup oil (I used olive)
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon lemon pepper
5 cups plain oyster crackers
pretzels
Combine all ingredients and toss over the crackers and pretzels. Bake for 15-20 minutes at 250 F. Stir gently half way through baking.

NO-BAKE PROTEIN COOKIES:
1 2/3 cups chocolate chips
4 tablespoons coconut oil or butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 tablespoons honey
1 1/4 cups oatmeal
1/3 cup flax seed
1/3 cup coconut
1 tablespoon protein powder
1/4 cup sliced almonds
1/4 cup pecan pieces
Melt chocolate chips in microwave. Add butter peanut butter and honey. Stir until melted. Add the rest of the ingredients. Using a cookie scoop, drop onto a wax paper-lined pan. Chill and enjoy.

FINGER JELLO:
3 cups juice, divided
1/4 cup beef gelatin
In a mixing bowl, add one cup juice. Sprinkle with gelatin. Add the remaining juice to a saucepan and bring to almost boiling. Pour the hot juice into the bowl and whisk until mixed. Pour into a pan and chill.
