PhotoMarks is a $4.99 universal application that will work on both the iPad and iPhone. PhotoMarks is an application that will allow you to easily add watermarks to your photos before sharing those images to social media. You have two options for watermarks; you either add an image, or you can add a text watermark.
Adding an Image Watermark:
An ideal image should have a transparent background and be in the .png format. It is not mandatory; but, this will give the best overall result. You can add a .jpeg with a colored background if you choose to do so, I just feel it will not look as nice, of course it is all subjective. You are able to resize and adjust the position of the image watermark by using the pinch gesture to adjust the size, and by dragging the image with 1 finger to a new location on your photo. There are transparency settings that will allow you adjust the image watermark making it more or less visible when placed on top of your photo.
Adding a Text Watermark:
If you don’t want to add an image; but, you would prefer to add some simple text that is possible in PhotoMarks as well. You can add your website URL, or your business name, or even you Instagram username or really any text you would like. Once you have your text added as your watermark, you can easily adjust the size, color, position, font style, transparency, and you can even add a stroke and shadow to your text.
Thoughts:
PhotoMarks is a terrific application for any photographer who is sharing their images on social media and wants and easy way to protect their work from the vultures who steal photos online to claim them as their own. You don’t have to be a professional photographer to want to keep people from stealing your work or your photos/images. Once your watermarks are added to your images you can easily save them to your camera roll, or you share to your favorite social media site right inside the application.
You can save a profile so you don’t have to adjust your watermarks each time you want to add a watermark to a new image. This works wonderfully well and will saves a lot of time over the course of using the application to add watermarks to your photos.
My only complaint about PhotoMarks is I wished it worked in landscape mode as I almost never using my iPad in portrait mode. Is that a deal breaker? Nope! PhotoMarks still does the job I require of it and does so without any hitches.
Would I recommend PhotoMarks? Yep! If you want to add watermarks to your image and you are using an iPad or iPhone, this would be the application that I would recommend looking at first. PhotoMarks is beautifully designed. The icons have that true “Apple feel” to them, where it feels like it is an application designed by Apple. The application is easy to use and doesn’t require a lot of thought to perform the simple task of adding a watermark to your photos!
