Stamp values peaked in 1981, and have been in a steady decline ever since. In this episode of Ted Talks Stamps, I look at advertised prices in a 1983 issue of Stamps magazine, and compare them to prices you can find online today.
With the bursting of the speculative bubble, followed by the rise of online selling platforms, and a general decline in the number of stamp collectors, prices have, probably, never been lower for stamps, relative to personal income.
