I this video I show a fix for a common no start issue with vw passat. I removed, tested and installed that starter. I jump started the car with the key turned to the on position and jumped the hot wire the the ignition controlled wire on the started and the car started. I checked all the fuses and relays. I replaced the battery and non of this was the issue for the no start. I found a vw forum where someone posted doing all the things I posted above and also installed a new ignition switch with no luck. He posted later that a mechanic fixed the problem by locating a corroded wire coming off the comfort control modular or CCM. I removed the carpet on the driver side to expose the CCM and found 2 wires soldered to 1 wire coming off the CCM. I wiggled the solder point and was able to start the car. Too much work for such a small issue.
