The Myth of Sisyphus by Albert Camus is one of the most prolific philosophical essays ever written that explores the absurd nature of human existence.
In his essay, Camus examines the concept of absurdism, a cornerstone of Camus' philosophy, by using the allegory of Sisyphus, a Greek mythological figure, who was condemned to push a boulder up a hill for all of eternity. According to Camus, "One must imagine Sisyphus happy". Despite life's apparent meaninglessness, Camus challenges us to find purpose and happiness by embracing the absurdity of life whilst striving to live an authentically.
