Feed the Deep is a lovecraftian roguelike game where we have to explore underwater caves in order to find some food to feed The Deep.
What is The Deep? It's a big gigantic undersea horror nightmare creature with many eyes and tentacles and big gnashy teeth and it's hungry, and if it doesn't get fed it'll rise up and kill everyone so we need to make sure it gets dinner.
We play as a diver who enters a cave system in search of the food for The Deep, but on our journey we can also acquire lots of shiny goodies which we can spend on upgrades, such as a bigger oxygen tank, better lights, the ability to pull items around quicker, glow sticks to use as marker points down in the depths, that kind of thing.
We can also buy ammunition for our flare gun, because there are many underwater horrors that want to eat us, and I am scared of them all.
Of course we have to keep an eye on our oxygen levels. We move slower whilst moving things around so there's a bit of a trade-off between bringing a big haul back but maybe suffocating to death, versus bringing back less shiny goodies but probably remaining alive.

ABOUT THE DEVELOPER
Feed the Deep was built almost entirely by me, Luke Muscat. Back in the Old Times I was creator of Jetpack Joyride and Fruit Ninja. A couple of years ago I decided I wanted to try the ultimate game dev challenge and make a game completely solo.
