"Love, Bureaucracy, and Baggage Claim: Unraveling the Magic of 'The Terminal'"

In the film "The Terminal," to fulfill his father's wish, Victor (played by Tom Hanks) flies from his home country to JFK Airport in the United States. However, a dramatic turn of events occurs: he is informed that a coup has taken place in his homeland, rendering his identification and passport invalid, and his visa unusable. Caught in a dilemma, Victor has no choice but to remain at the airport, waiting for new documents to be processed.
However, he ends up waiting at the airport for a full 9 months. During these 9 months, he uses the airport bathrooms to wash up and sleeps in the waiting areas. He learns to adapt to his surroundings, managing his daily life within the airport, and even finds work at a construction site. Nevertheless, Victor's unkempt appearance and perceived bad luck attract the displeasure of the airport manager, Frank (played by Stanley Tucci). What perhaps angers and makes Frank even more jealous is that the beautiful flight attendant Amelia (played by Catherine Zeta-Jones) falls in love with Victor. Finding himself in the midst of this sweet romance, Victor also slowly observes the various facets of life at the airport, finding his own contentment.
