Mount Etna eruption, 04 August 2024
Spectacular view of the Mount #Etna eruption from #space via our #MTGI1 satellite! 😮
Seen yesterday between 02:40 - 10:30 UTC, the large volcanic plume casts a huge shadow on the ground.
The eruption has caused more flight disruption in #Sicily in what has been an active month for the volcano 🌋
Please note: MTG-I1's FCI imagery has been declared pre-operational after preliminary validation, however, this data is still undergoing testing and is not for operational use at this time.
