Play widevine drm encrypted audio and video with Chromium on Freebsd
Chromium on Freebsd has been recently patched to enable Widevine support to play drm encrypted audio and video.
This is done with the help of the foreign-cdm package and the www/linux-widevine-cdm port
So you can watch encrypted drm video like Netflix, Channel 4, ITV and other streaming services or listen to Spotify using Chromium on Freebsd
In this video i cover installing chromium the foreign-cdm package and building the www/linux-widevine-cdm port using poudriere
i also covere setting up a virtual_oss loopback device so we can record sndiod audio using obs studio because chromium on freebsd uses sndiod audio.
building the linux-widevine-cdm port as a package with poudriere only takes a couple of minues
