Use favorite programming languages in infrastructure industry | PLCnext Technology
Various programming languages can be used in development environments of the infrastructure industry due to the openness of PLCnext Technology.
This openness of PLCnext Technology opened up a large new set of options for our customer Strypes in the Netherlands. As an early adopter, the customer could experience how well the different programming languages such as IEC 61131 and high-level languages such as C++ or C# worked together in development environments, e.g. Matlab Simulink or PC Worx Engineer.
The use of open-source software and apps improves the efficiency of development processes in the infrastructure industry. This way, new IoT-based business models for a future-proof product can be implemented.
Transcription: PLCnext Technology, we were one of the happy few that were taking part of the, in the early adoptive program. We were supplied with equipment, with a lot of help actually and good communication, all the questions were being helped. So that helped us to get started. Our first experience where we started off in the traditional way. So the IEC languages, that worked well. But of course, PLCnext is more. So we also stepped in to care, what are the possibilities of the openness of the platform that's in there? So especially in our case, we were using the C++ code that we can embed in there, which opens up a large set of options for us.
