VINOD Babu, an Indian Chef working in Sydney, Australia. Many places have been worked in by me, but a significant milestone in my career has been reached in Australia. Initially, it was planned by me to work only in the Indian section, but upon arriving in Australia, multitasking in the kitchen was required due to higher salary expectations. This meant the entire kitchen had to be taken charge of, presenting its own set of challenges. However, these challenges provided opportunities for self-improvement. Initially, work for an employer sponsor is necessary, and after two years, Permanent Residency (PR) can be applied for. It is advisable to wait for PR before bringing your family to Australia, as living with a family can be very expensive without PR. When Australia was first landed in by me, the country was unfamiliar. Thankfully, the airport pickup was arranged by my employer. In other cases, reliance on public transport or services like Uber might be necessary. Keeping some Australian dollars upon arrival is a good idea. Join me as my journey and experiences as a South Indian chef in Australia are shared.
