Ibanez Portamento SRF705 Review
I tried to make this bass guitar review as thorough at possible. I might be making a couple more follow up videos, especially if I do end up adjusting the truss rod and string action.
Just about a month ago Ibanez released the amazing looking Portamento from their Workshop line-up. It comes with two perfectly tuned twin coil Bartolini MK1 pickups. A super long scale fretboard, 2.5 octave! This fretless growls and plays smooth like butter, just like any other premium SR model bass, which the Portamento is based off of. It comes with a beautiful 5 piece neck, which is a thru-construction. Also, probably making it the most unique, is the Aero-Silk Piezo system. Adding a sort of "Upright Double Bass" tone to the overall already good sound of the bass. I guess it was designed for bass players who play both, electric and upright basses.
I think Ibanez have done a great job, I hope they keep this model in production and maybe even give it some upgrades in the future.
