Hi, I’m Chi Lopes, pronounced “Shy Lowps” I’ve been working in the pro dance world for over 20yrs (both in LA and Nashville) and want to help pro dancers & future pro dancers succeed on their journey!!! Chi, owner & creator of HOLLYWOOD DANCE INTENSIVE @HollywoodDanceIntensive …..Yep it’s exactly how it sounds, I take dancers from all over the world and we meet up in Los Angeles and Nashville for a dance industry-focused intensive like you’ve never seen. Since I lived and worked in LA & Nashville as a pro dancer & choreographer for over 20yrs I can give my HDI dancers the inside scoop: giving them unique opportunities to build relationships and make connections with dancers, choreographers, directors, producers, and agents. We do more than just attend dance classes at public pro studios, we also do private classes, on-camera dance training, industry educational seminars, have guest speakers, a full mock audition with a pro panel of judges giving instant feedback, written feedback and video playback, photoshoot in which dancers receive both edited headshots and dance shots to keep, a professional wardrobe stylist and make-up artist for the shoot, dance agency interview, and Q&A session, private aerial class, parent Q&A, van transportation, the chance to attend real dance auditions, the chance to be on a real shoot/gig, and at the very end of our trip dancers will shoot a Dance Music Video or REAL MUSIC VIDEO in which they gain experience dancing behind and for an artist and dancing for on-camera work. Dancers get pumped up for shooting “on location” (small & large studio set locations learning on the spot just how a video shoot all comes together). These intensives are for guys and girls ages 10-30yrs old. We have a YOUTH HDI for 10-14yrs and a TEEN/ADULT for 14-30yrs. We are VERY unique as we only accept 10 dancers to go on our LA Trips and 30 for our Nashville events. This provides serious dancers more one-on-one time in each setting instead of getting lost in a big crowd of dancers on other intensives. VIDEO SHOOT EVENTS:
2018 our dancers were cast to be in Tiana Kocher's music video "GIRLS" choreographed by Reyna Banks.
2019 we produced 2 dance music videos set on Santa Monica shores and set locations around LA choreographed by Chi Lopes and shot by Elliott Lopes Photography.
2021 dancers got another opportunity to shoot 2 mini music videos for JULIANA HALE's new singles "Chill" and "Dollhouse" choreographed by Chi Lopes
2022 Youth dancers starred in the Styled by William “Denim&Dye” Commercial and Teen/Adult’s shot a mini music video for recording artist Marin Rylee “Talk Too Much” all choreographed by Chi Lopes
