How an offensive line really comes together
Getting an offensive line together for a college football season, particularly one with so many new players, is a process, says former South Carolina offensive lineman John Strickland, who lived it during the Lou Holtz era in Columbia. That said, it is to be expected that there will be struggles during early scrimmages, particularly during spring practice, as players are trying to find a home or two, coaches are trying to pinpoint their best five, all while trying to develop a sense of cohesiveness and while facing a defense with more returning players and quality depth than ever. When you look at it like that, you get a better picture of the process with this group. It's no different at South Carolina than anywhere else.
