How to make a trot line for fishing with a boat anchor rope, swivels, fishing line and hooks.
Kind of like a cross between a longline drop line, trotline, but it is still a trotline. I Kendall Todd made a trot line, I believe I have used it and it do believe it works to catch fish. It does take a bit of work to set it out with a fishing boat though. I like the circle hooks. This may help you to catch more fish while out on the water. You might want to attach a chum bag to your anchor attached with not too strong fishing line. Do this at your own risk. For bait you can use shrimp or cut bait maybe mullet. A good castnet can come in handy for bait catching to bait your trot line/longline. If you are trying to do more bottom fishing with this you might possibly want to put weights along the rope and maybe it will help weigh it down more so you can have more hooks trying to catch fish closer to the bottom, and you may want to use a longer rope, While this anchor rope trap line is working for you, you can probably also have fishing poles with reels going. You may be noticing it is really important to have the right type of fishing gear, fishing equipment it is nice to have a quality fishing reel a good fishing pole and it is also nice to have a good castnet and be able to catch fish and you may also need a baitwell livewell.
