Let's talk about... Possible results
This film is part of our 'Let's Talk About... Genomic Testing' series, produced in collaboration with genetic counsellor Amanda Pichini. In this film, a group of experts explore the kinds of results that can be returned from genomic testing.
We hear that different types of tests can provide different types of results, and our experts discuss the importance of preparing patients and families in advance for the kinds of results they could receive, the length of time they could take to come through, and what they might mean in terms of management.
Our experts also discuss the possibility of a negative result - that is, no answer - and outline the importance of managing expectations about what this means for patients.
