For many electronics hobbyists, a tool for measuring capacitance is not easy on the wallet. That’s why Surbhika decided to build her own DIY capacitance meter, which costs less than $5 USD. In this episode, she demonstrates how she used a 555 Timer IC to convert capacitance into frequency, and then uses a Raspberry Pi Pico to display the calibrated capacitance in microfarads.
