As a cinematographer with an expertise in color science, Tim Kang will take us through lighting a complex scene while providing in-depth explanations on the science behind new and old lighting concepts. His presentation will utilize the INFINIBARs in innovative ways, capitalizing on their unique form factor and color science.

In this full presentation, Tim walks through what he calls the 4 C's of Lighting, where he breaks down lighting qualities in a way that hasn't been done before. We are used to seeing and sculpting light in "three points", but Tim talks about lighting in terms of contrast, contour, context, and color. Each of those affect the emotion and tone of a scene drastically, and it has everything to do with how you place your light, how intense it is, and the quality of it.

After that, Tim takes us through a demonstration on image-based lighting using the virtual production software, Assimilate Live FX, where he programs the INFINIBARs to interact with a video file to output the exact colors of the image. This new way of lighting takes the idea of using reflections to give you the most realistic lighting on set with simple and modern tools.
