Blocking Footwork in Volleyball - Crossover 1 or X1
This is a blocking footwork pattern that we primarily see at the men's international level. We are calling it the crossover 1 or X1. As you can see in the video, #17 takes a very small jab step and then jumps off of his 1st crossover step. With this move, the blocker is facing the hitter while jumping, similar to our other crossover blocking moves, and will have to get over and square up while he's in the air. We would also consider this more of an emergency blocking move.
