Stupid Photography Terms Number 30. Hi, Rick here, creator and all things at the Photography Explained Podcast. Well, what am I whinging on about in this video? RAW, the term RAW.

It, it's odd, isn't it?

Camera RAW, RAW, RAW files, it's just odd.

I know what it means. A raw photo, a raw file is one that hasn't been processed other than the processing done to create the digital image.

So there's been no processing done, as there has to a JPEG file. But it's such an odd term, isn't it? I shoot in RAW. Do ya? It's just odd and I don't think it's going to help people get into photography.

Anyway, that's my take on RAW.
