Albus and I hike the AT (Appalachian Trail) 1,500ft up Mt Rogers to hammock camp 1 night next to Thomas Knob Shelter Saturday Nov 6th, 2021 to Sunday, Nov 7th, 2021. Only saw 2 ponies. I screwed up and brought my daughter's 50F sleeping bag and my 50F top quilt. It was supposed to be 26F/-3C (wind chill 20F/-6C). So I combined them and it worked out well... *whew*. I also learned Shelties (Shetland Sheepdogs) don't need all the stuff I've been bringing. Beautiful place, but SUPER packed with people. Everyone was super nice of course, but if you're looking for solitude, better to come during the week maybe vs. weekend.
