Are you ready to build a clean future together? The future is now!

A hydrogen vehicle is a type of alternative fuel vehicle that uses hydrogen fuel for motive power. Hydrogen vehicles include hydrogen-fueled space rockets, as well as automobiles and other transportation vehicles. Power is generated by converting the chemical energy of hydrogen to mechanical energy, either by reacting hydrogen with oxygen in a fuel cell to power electric motors or, less commonly, by burning hydrogen in an internal combustion engine.

Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles
Fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) are powered by hydrogen. They are more efficient than conventional internal combustion engine vehicles and produce no tailpipe emissions—they only emit water vapor and warm air. FCEVs and the hydrogen infrastructure to fuel them are in the early stages of implementation.

Proponents say hydrogen fuel could be a vital tool in slashing the world's carbon emissions. But most hydrogen is still produced by burning fossil fuels and "green" hydrogen - made using renewable energies - costs far more to produce.
However, the EU has vowed to ramp upthe production of green hydrogen as part of a €470 billion investment over the next 30 years.

▶1. World's First 100% Hydrogen "Skateboard" Truck Has A 500 Mile Range
French manufacturer Gaussin intends to release the first prototype for its next-generation "skateboard" for trucks in mid-2021, according to a press release from the company.
The company says it will be the first 100 percent hydrogen truck skateboard for class 8 tractors and straight trucks.
The platform, which can also be purchased for all-electric trucks, will be powered by Microvast fast-charging batteries.

"Gaussin presents the world's first "skateboard" for class 8 tractor and straight trucks, ranging from 18t to 44t — either hydrogen or all-electric — for long haul and short-haul applications," the company stated in its release.

▶ 2. Hydrogen fuel cell four-seater passenger plane takes to the air
A collaboration of aircraft makers, fuel cell developers and university engineers have come a step closer to zero emission passenger flights with the first flight of a hydrogen fuel cell four-seater electric aircraft.

The twin-cabin, (relatively) low-noise HY4
The HY4's 21.36 m (70 ft) wing is home to the HY4's central single propeller with a two-seater fuselage on either side, a design that's said to allow for "optimal distribution of the drive components and a higher total loading capacity." Each fuselage is home to a 9 kg (20 lb) hydrogen storage tank that feeds the four low temperature Proton Exchange Membrane fuel cell modules sat behind the prop.

▶ 3. Built by French firm Alstom and already in service in Germany, the train uses a fuel cell to convert hydrogen stored in its roof into electricity, with the only emissions produced coming in the form of steam and water.

Called the Coradia iLint, it is the world's first passenger train powered entirely by hydrogen. Built by French firm Alstom, it was tested for the first time in France on Monday, September 6, 2021.

France has already ordered 14 of the trains, due to go into service in 2025. It is hoped over time the technology can replace some of the 1,200 diesel trains still in operation in the country. Though still a nascent technology, a number of hydrogen-powered vehicles are in various stages of development across the world.

▶ 4. Swiss smart yacht points solar-hydrogen power towarda "limitless" range
Combining two forms of sustainable energy into one range-extending propulsion system, Swiss Sustainable Yachts' clean, quiet catamaran promises to jumpstart a future in which the word "range" becomes obsolete. The 64-footer harnesses solar energy to create its own hydrogen, powering a fuel cell-electric drive to potentially limitless autonomy, so long as the sun is shining and the captain isn't pushing past cruising speed.
