Attacked By Midges - Gift & The Curse Of Scotland Vanlife UK. In this week's Scotland Vanlife UK vlog, we take our tiny home on wheels Old Gertie our 1989 Talbot Express Campervan to two park-ups for you. One by the beach at Luce Bay, the perfect vanlife overnight parking spot next to the sea. It's on the South West 300 and in Dumfries and Galloway.
Then we try to escape the heat and head to the Galloway Forest Park to seek shade and shelter from the sun. We have found one of the best vanlife overnight parking spots in Scotland so far. With plenty of wild parking spots, rivers, waterfalls and a stunning forest loop walk (Cornish Hill). The walk takes you through all types of terrain and scenery. With plenty of Lochs, it's a walker and van life dream overnight wild camping spot.
Like more places in Scotland's countryside, we got attacked by Midges. They were insane. Crawling all over our faces and skin. Kez had to run back to the van to keep safe. I flew the drown before taking refuge back in the Campervan. It was not fun, but it's all part and parcel of vanlife in Scotland. Be warned not to take the Midges lightly. Because they are coming for you.
