3D PROXIMITY Analysis in ArcGIS Pro
Proximity analysis is a common analysis approach because it helps answer the traditional question: What is near what?
ArcGIS Pro has many proximity analysis methods to help answer spatial questions. When spatial questions require data to be modeled in 3D, the proximity analysis method will often require a 3D approach. The 3D proximity analysis methods are similar to the 2D proximity analysis methods; but, because of the addition of this third dimension, the proximity analysis methods must address the geographic relationships specific to 3D.
The 3D Analyst extension provides methods to perform 3D proximity analysis to answer 3D distance-based spatial questions, again answering, What is near what?
