The Leopard 2AV was a pre-production version of the Leopard 2, which was trialled by the US, against the XM-1, in the 1970's. One of the turrets provided had the new 120mm L/44 smoothbore cannon.

DM13 APFSDS was the first APFSDS projectile which entered service with the cannon, which featured 2 tungsten alloy cores in a maraging steel jacket. This projectile cores have a low aspect ratio for a long-rod projectile, resulting in the projectile's performance being only slightly better than projectiles like M774 and M111 Hetz. Due to this, DM13 was quickly superceeded by DM23, which was monolithic with a higher aspect ratio.

The T-72A upper glacis Rolled Homogenous Armour (RHA) has been modelled as ~300BHN. The geometry of DM13 was taken from this diagram: https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bhG8b8KUYd...
