Google Docs not saving, stuck on saving, and entire menu greyed out

I had a problem today in Google Docs where it did not want to save my progress even after 15 minutes. It sure was annoying. But this is the first problem I had with google docs in 10 years =)
This happened after clearing the cache of Chrome.
As I found no answer on the internet I tried playing around with it and deleting some google extensions from the browser seemed to solve the issue.
But then... I reinstalled it. and it stopped again. Soo. I'm seeing now if updating chrome will help.
