Inkscape Transform Panel
Inkscape’s Transform Panel (or Dialog) gives you precise control over your object transformations. The Select and Transform Tool (the arrow) gives you the ability to Move, Scale, Rotate and Skew objects but lacks the precise control that the Transform Dialog gives you, allowing you to state exact values.
You can move objects or groups of objects to a precise position or you can move relative to the current location. You can scale to an exact size or as a percentage of the current size, scaling width and height separately or scale proportionally. Rotation is relative to the current position but I show you how to rotate to exact angles using the Measure tool and a little maths. The skew operation can be used horizontally or vertically using an angle, measurement or percentage. I guide you through the different options.
Using the Transform Panel, you can accurately position objects around a circle. Because you type in the angle and not select it from a drop-down menu, you have absolute control.
