Of all of the animals we share our planet with, the one with possibly the worst reputation is sharks, partly due to how they are portrayed in films, books and other media, with the perception of them as cold-blooded killers. The history of sharks stretches back around 400 million years, and there are a lot of myths and little-known facts about these animals.
