NASA Orion Spacecraft Water Drop Test
NASA will be dropping a test version of the Orion spacecraft into the Hydro Impact Basin. Eventually the Orion craft will hold humans returning to Earth from the Moon as part of the Artemis program.
The Orion spacecraft test version weighs 14,000 pounds. The Hydro Impact Basin pool itself is 115 (35m) long, 90 feet (27.4 m) wide and 20 feet (6.1m) deep.
