Here are my immediate thoughts on Swann's Way by Marcel Proust, which I finished reading yesterday. I can see the brilliance of Proust, but have decided to save the rest of ISOLT for when I am much older. I'd advise you to consider doing the same for my thoughts in this video.

I like to take a biographical approach to my book reviews. Here I mention how it fits with Modernism and his contemporaries, Virginia Woolf and James Joyce. This is the great thing about reading classic fiction and literary fiction, in that it has a cultural place that we can now see and question with the advantage of hindsight.

In Search of Lost Time is definitely a literary ideal for descriptive writing, getting at a core part of life — how and why do we remember the things we do? What is love, and how is it formed? Can we relive experiences through memory, dreams, or imagination?
