What should I use to render my animated short; Daz 3D or Unity? That is the question I'm asking myself right now. I have been doing some experiments lately, and I'm going to share my results with you. For the first video, I'm looking at lip syncing options. For Daz 3D, I'm using Anilip2. For Unity, I'm using Salsa. Both are great lip syncing options, so my decision probably won't be based off of the quality of these two assets. However, the results are going to be different based off of the quality of renders for Daz 3D, and for Unity.
Unfortunately, Unity, even with its HDRP, just can't touch Daz 3D's render quality. However, a 3 second animation took 48 minutes to render in Daz Studio, and less than a minute in Unity. Time vs Quality is what I have to decide on.
