Seeing African Restoration From Space: JustDiggit Leverages Planet Data to Regreen the Land
This video interviews Sander De Haas, Landscape Restoration & Innovation Expert, from the non-profit JustDiggit. Leveraging Planet’s SkySat, PlanetScope, and Planetary Variables products, JustDiggit is leading community-based restoration projects across sub-saharan Africa. In Tanzania, for example, JustDiggit and local communities have dug semi-circle bunds in the ground to catch rainwater and support the re-growth of native grasses. Planet’s data helps document the regreening and changes in the soil moisture and temperature of the restoration sites.
