Welcome to Assignment 02 of the Database Management System course (CS403) for the Spring 2023 semester. In this graded assignment, we will focus on using Microsoft SQL Server to design and manage physical databases.
Task 1: We will start by creating a new database in SQL Server using your VU ID. Follow the provided guidelines and screenshots to successfully complete this task.
Task 2: Once the database is created, we will proceed to create three tables: Stadium, MatchSchedule, and Block. Each table should include the attributes/columns mentioned in the ERD, along with appropriate data types. Don't forget to define the primary key for each table and handle any multi-valued attributes. Additionally, establish the relationships between the tables and add foreign keys accordingly.
Task 3: Now it's time to populate the tables with data. Write SQL statements to insert two records into each table, ensuring the data aligns with the attributes defined.
Task 4: In this final task, we will write SQL statements to perform various operations on the database. First, display the names and capacities of all blocks. Then, calculate and display the average charges/amount for the blocks using the appropriate SQL function. Lastly, remove the StadName column from the Stadium table using SQL statements.
Remember, screenshots are required for each task, so make sure to capture your SQL statements and their results.
